Bold brand strategy. Built on a system, not a guess.
For nearly twenty years, I've helped values-driven companies in lifestyle, women's health, and the built environment build, scale, and modernize their brands, without breaking what made them good in the first place.
The Short Story.
I’ve been there.
I'm Molly McDermott Walsh, a commercially minded marketing leader and brand strategist, and the founder of Three Lines Consulting. For nearly twenty years I've led marketing for heritage and design-forward brands like PANTONE, Farrow & Ball, and Henrybuilt, worked as a fractional CMO for founders and boards, and spent my most recent chapter getting genuinely hands-on with the performance marketing and AI tools reshaping how brands grow.
I bring a system-based approach to brand strategy, creative marketing, and organizational infrastructure: a way of thinking that lets a company modernize without breaking what made it good in the first place. I don't just hand you a plan and leave. I build the alignment across your team, your leadership, your outside partners, and ultimately, your customers, that turns strategy into action and keeps it moving after I'm gone.
Who I Work With
Lifestyle. Women’s Health. The Built Environment.
I work with change-makers and thoughtful risk-takers: good people building good brands.
Three categories, one thread: they're deeply human. They shape how we take care of ourselves, our families, and our spaces. When brands in these categories get it right, people notice, and when they get it wrong, the disconnect cuts deep.
I work with companies at any stage. A founder who needs help naming what makes them different. An established business where the team has lost momentum, or never had marketing leadership to begin with, or built something genuinely good that nobody quite understands yet. What they share isn't a size or a stage. It's potential that hasn't found its clearest expression: brand love without the sales to match, a strong product without a story, a team without a shared plan.
The System Behind ItCall it radical alignment. Every engagement starts with the same diagnostic: where is the business, the brand, and the team out of sync, and what's the fastest path back to working as one.
From there, I build real infrastructure, not just a deck: a shared plan, clear roles, the right partners, and a way of communicating internally that makes the strategy stick.
That system is also why people keep coming back. Former colleagues, former employees, and creative partners I've worked with for over a decade now. Good systems build good relationships, and good relationships are how the best work actually gets made.
“Molly has a rare gift for distilling complex brand stories into clear, compelling narratives that resonate both internally and externally. Through a thoughtful and highly collaborative process, she helped us uncover and articulate the essence of who we are—not just as a company, but as a culture.
Her approach is strategic yet deeply human, balancing the voice of the business with the heart of the people behind it.”
Kirsten Darrow, CMO
“In a time where brands need to stand out in a sea of other brands, every company needs an expert communicator and champion, like Molly”
Dani Kennedy, creative leader
How I Work
Every engagement runs on the same system. Diagnose what's really going on, then build the plan.
Where it goes from there depends on what you need.
Advisory. A senior partner in your corner. Regular strategy sessions, fast feedback, and access to twenty years of relationships. For teams already executing who want an experienced sounding board. [Learn more →]
Fractional CMO. Embedded marketing leadership. I build the strategy, lead your team, and bring in the right people to execute it. For businesses that need senior leadership now, not eventually. [Learn more →]
Strategy Projects. One clear deliverable for one clear problem. Positioning, messaging, an audit, a brand manual, a roadmap. For the specific moment that needs an outside eye. [Learn more →]
“Molly has the rare ability to listen closely to founders and executives talk about their vision and plans, collaborate and create with them, and then distill their big ideas into actionable steps, producing practical execution of lofty dreams.
She creates the conditions under which progress happens. Molly's work was critical in making sure Chamber of Mothers grew from a scrappy group of idealists gathering together, into a sturdy advocacy organization that will stand the test of time.”
Erin Spahn Erenberg, Co-Founder & CEO Chamber of Mothers
“Molly has a unique ability to identify opportunities that will elevate a brand or help it enter into new and unexpected spaces, championing creative ideas that at times require unconventional thinking, and doing.”
